Street Party – Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2015/2016

The only festival to appear in the ‘Discovery Channel – Top 25 World Travel Experiences’, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party is one of the world’s greatest New Year celebrations. Three days of spectacular events get underway on 30 December with the beautiful procession where thousands of torch carriers create a river of fire from the historic Royal Mile to the son et lumiére and fireworks finale on Calton Hill. The festival offers a chance to see Shetland Vikings bearing firelit torches, hear beautiful choral singing in St Giles’ Cathedral, enjoy birling to traditional Scottish music in the Old Town, and watch top stars and incredible fireworks from Princes Street Gardens.

During  Hogmanay, the action moves to Princes Street in the very heart of the city of Edinburgh beneath the spectacular backdrop of Edinburgh Castle and, as the bells strike midnight, people from around the globe welcome New Year with the world-famous Edinburgh Hogmanay Midnight Fireworks on the castle ramparts.

Plan you arrival well in advance so that you make most of this once in a life time event.
